Amazing Gorillas! Animal Story Time With Reading Comprehension and Drawing Fun
In this class, students will learn many amazing facts about gorillas! They will then answer multiple-choice, true/false, and discussion questions to demonstrate comprehension. Finally, students will complete their own fun gorilla drawing!

In this class, students will listen to the teacher read, "Amazing Gorillas!" while they watch a slideshow of the book. At the end of the story, students will be asked five comprehension questions that consist of multiple-choice, true/false, and discussion questions. Students will be encouraged to elaborate during the discussion questions to further demonstrate their understanding of the story's content. They will also be guided into sharing their opinions and knowledge on the subject...
1. Characteristics of gorillas 2. How gorillas communicate 3. The anatomy of gorillas 4. How gorillas interact with each other 5. How gorillas use their senses 6. How people harm gorillas and affect their habitat 7. How scientists study gorillas 8. How people can protect gorillas
There will be no homework assignments for this course.
Students will need their preferred type of drawing paper and a drawing utensil (pen, pencil, etc.). They may also bring markers and/or colored pencils if they wish to color their drawing in class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learner progress is assessed informally as the teacher listens to and reads student responses to comprehension questions.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
