In this one-time zoology class, young learners will explore the amazing animals: whales. Together we will discuss whale characteristics, move and sing like whales, listen to whale songs, and complete a simple whale science experiment.

Class Experience

Students will learn the basics characteristics of whales, their habitat, and their diet.
Students will participate in group discussions about whales. 
Students will discover different whale feeding methods by completing a simple science experiment. 
Students will explore whale movements by moving like whales. 
Students will enjoy whale songs and use their imaginations to sing like whales. 
No homework is given. 
Printable whale coloring sheet Science experiment supplies: medium-sized bowl, dried parsley flakes, celery (cut in small pieces), fine-tooth comb, and tongs Crayons, markers, colored pencils for the coloring sheet
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
BEFORE CLASS: Parents will need to prepare science experiment supplies. Parents should cut celery into bite-sized pieces (4-5 pieces of celery is sufficient). All supplies should be gathered and ready for use. The bowl should be filled with water and placed in a safe area for the student to work on the experiment.
