Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
Most people are familiar with poison dart frogs. Less people are familiar with poisonous birds. These birds have been reported throughout history but only recently in the scientific literature. Here's what we know about the world of poisonous birds.

In this one-time class, students will learn all about toxic birds. By the end of class, students will know:
- the difference between two toxins: poison and venom
- 10 birds that are poisonous
- what makes the birds toxic
- how toxins are used
- their effect on humans

This one-time class is lecture-based with the aid of slides and pictures.
