Description

Class Experience

In this one-time class, which can be used as an introduction to amphibians or a taster session for my flex 4-week Amazing Amphibians Up Close course, we will be looking at what makes an amphibian an amphibian, and how they differ from other vertebrates. We will look at different characteristics that all amphibians share, and how to use these to identify an amphibian.

Students will learn the main characteristics of amphibians and how to identify and classify amphibians.

I am a qualified Montessori Elementary (Primary in the UK) teacher, certified to teach 6-12 year olds. I have taught students within independent schools in the UK, and also taught small groups of homeschooled children who were aged 6-9. This class is based on and adapted from material I have presented previously.

Students will need an additional device (tablet size is preferable) to participate in the Nearpod quiz.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Nearpod

30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
