Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
Beginner Level
Knowing letters and sounds is essential for children when trying to decode unfamiliar words starting in kindergarten. In this multi-day course students will learn their letters and sounds in 9-weeks. Students will meet 3 times a week for about 25 minutes. This time may run over 5 minutes depending on how talkative the kids are. If you have to leave earlier than that I understand.

They will listen to a letter book from the AlphaTales collection by Scholastic. Then, we will participate in I-spy with letters and sounds and we will say the letter cheer. We will also learn letters and sounds by watching music videos by Jack Hartman on YouTube with screen share and we will practice writing the letter of the day.

At the end of our class we will do a quick show and tell on each of the letters. For every class try and have something to show that starts with the letter of the day! For example, I might bring an apple to show everyone on the first day of class. The next class I might bring a bear to show everyone!

On the last day of week 9 we will review our letters and sounds by playing a review!
