Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Learners will recognize uppercase and lowercase letters.
Learners will understand the connection between letters and sounds, and match at least one sound to each letter.
Learners will begin blending CVC (consonant vowel consonant) words.
I have 12 years experience teaching pre-k to third grade in traditional schools, and have homeschooled both of my children beginning in kindergarten.
Complete word tasks in padlet and join in the weekly letter game in the classroom posts.
Learners should have either a sensory tray (such as salt, beans, flour, playdough, or a sealed bag of paint-please choose something that is a good fit for your child) or writing materials such as paper and pencil, chalk and chalkboard, or white board and dry erase marker.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
If you are using a sensory tray for letter writing, please choose something that will not present choking or health hazards for your child. Some children at this age may write in a salt or rice tray without being tempted to eat the salt or rice, while others are more interested in trying to eat it.
