Class Experience

Do you love to show and tell? Do you have something in your house you want to talk about? If so, then this class is for you! In this fun and interactive one time class, students will take turns showing and telling their letter friends. This is a great way for students to practice taking turns and speaking in front of others.

** Today's class: Letter W **

Please have your child bring a letter friend to class. Letter friends can be toys or other items around the house. They can bring as many as they can find. Some ideas for the letter {Ww} could be = water, watermelon, waffle, wallet, wand, watch, whistle, water bottle, wig, wings, worm, whale, walrus, wolf, or Winnie the Pooh. Be creative!

I will begin class with an introduction. Then we will practice saying the letter and we will play some games. Students should come to class with a letter friend that starts with the letter. Each student will show and tell their item to the class, one at a time. When they are finished I will ask questions and then other students can ask questions. I will then show my friends to the class and they can ask me questions. Each student will have one opportunity to present their letter friend and several chances to ask and answer questions.

This is a fun and interactive class that requires participation by introducing their letter friend and asking the other students questions.

Learning Goals

Students will have the opportunity to practice presentation skills, listening skills, thinking skills, and patience. They will also learn letter identification, phonemic awareness, and sound.

Hello Outschool families! My name is Mrs. Christine and I want to welcome you to my classroom! I am so excited to be a part of your learner's experiences on Outschool and look forward to meeting them.

Here is a little about me:

I live in Florida (EST) and have a degree from the University of North Florida, a TESOL Certification, and I homeschooled our daughter for over 14 years!

I have taught many homeschool classes in subjects like reading, writing, science, history, math, and art. I’ve also led story times, hosted tea parties, and coordinated field trips. I’ve taught children from elementary through high school.

I have also taught over 7,000 online ELA (English Language Arts) and ESL (English as a Second Language) courses over the last 7 years to students all over the world and I absolutely love it! I have taught students in 28 countries spread over 5 continents. My favorite things about teaching online are the relationships that I have been able to have with my students and their families and the improvements my students have been able to make.

I have been married for over 24 years and we have one daughter in college and two cute miniature schnauzers. I spend a lot of my free time playing and snuggling with them. When we aren't playing with the puppies, my family and I enjoy traveling.

I have taught over 2,500 individual classes on Outschool and currently teach ongoing private lessons. Please contact me if you would like to schedule a private 1:1 class or if you don't see a day and time listed that works for you.

I hope to see your learner in the classroom!

Mrs. Christine 💛
