US Grade Preschool - 1
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this ongoing class, we will work on either one or two letters of the alphabet each lesson, (depending on what works best for your learner), focusing on the sound(s) they make, thinking of words that begin with each letter/sound, and practicing writing them. Props, pictures, activities, games, and songs may be used to help students think of words and practice the letter sounds. As this class is set to be a private, 1 student class, your input is invaluable as well, and, if communicated far enough ahead of class time, I can incorporate specific sounds or words that you are working on at home. If there are some letters that your learner needs more attention on, we can focus more than one week on the same letter. An EXAMPLE of a class schedule is as follows: (Again this can be revamped to meet your students specific needs.). You will notice that once we have worked our way through each letter, the lesson cycle begins again. Some students are ready to move on after learning each letter once, but many students learn and benefit by going over each letter multiple times. Supply List
As part of the class includes practicing how each letter is written, please have your learner bring something to write with and write on. This could be paper, a whiteboard, a tracer sheet or tracer book. If your student is brand new to writing their letters, even a piece of paper with the letters written in dots for them to trace over is extremely beneficial.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
