Beginner Level
Arts and crafts, one letter at a time! Each week in this ongoing class, we will focus on one letter of the alphabet and do a craft inspired by that letter. This is a great, low-pressure way for pre-k and kindergarten aged learners to have fun and be creative, all while practicing their letter recognition and letter sounds. 🎨 We'll start class with a warm welcome and a question of the day to break the ice. 🎨 During the class, I will introduce the letter of the week and we will practice the sound that letter makes. 🎨 We'll play a fun guessing game where learners guess words starting with the letter of the day based on clues I give them. 🎨 Finally, we'll do a step-by-step craft inspired by that letter. These crafts are simple, fun, and designed to build confidence in their artistic skills! The goal of this class is to practice our letter recognition and letter sounds, create arts and crafts, and have fun! I am a patient and positive teacher and I truly believe that everyone can create art! I love seeing learners build their confidence and have fun creating something they're proud of. Everyone's finished product will be different and we celebrate those differences! Also, as a former shy kid myself, I am very understanding of learners who take some time to warm up and there is no pressure in my classes to talk if that isn't comfortable yet. All are welcome here! Other Details
Parental Guidance
There are inherent risks, such as accidental cuts, that come with the use of scissors, particularly with young learners. Adult supervision is required when scissors are in use. While grownups are asked to remain off camera, some learners may need a helping hand on occasion. I would highly recommend that an adult be close by during class. There may also be some minor prep of materials to be done by a grownup each week.

Below are the materials we will be using regularly in this class. I will send out a detailed list of what is required for specific crafts each week. Plain paper plates Card stock Construction paper Watercolor paper Washable paints Paint brushes Pipe cleaners Googly eyes (We can absolutely make it work without these. They're just so fun!) Scissors Glue Tissue paper of various colors

I have always loved working with children as well as arts and crafts! I've been a nursery coordinator, daycare teacher, nanny, and school volunteer over the years. I also have three kids of my own. I have a B.A. in linguistics and I volunteered for a literacy program for two years, during which I helped kindergarteners learn and practice their letters and letter sounds.
