Class Experience

Bonjour, et bienvenue! Come learn the names for 8 different sea animals in French.

The course will be 95% immersion-based (barring any necessary tech support or classroom commands). Through the use of learning materials such as slides, GIFs, gestures, and props, most students should be able to understand the sentence frames and vocabulary. It is suitable for any introductory-level French student, as well as complete beginners. I keep my one-time class sizes small so that students can be comfortable in an intimate setting and get plenty of pronunciation and speaking practice.

The class will be structured as followed:
- Introducing ourselves (“Je m’appelle ______.”)
- Repetition of target vocabulary (animal name) in isolation, followed by usage in a sentence: “Je vois un(e) _____.”
- Q & A : modeled by teacher, then practiced by students (“Que vois-tu?” [What do you see?] —> “Je vois un(e) ____…” = [I see a _____.])
- Introduction to the adjectives “grand(e)” and “petite”
- Au revoir … Goodbye!

Learning Goals

Students will gain confidence in speaking French! They will learn the French names for 8 different sea animals, use the sentence frame "Je vois un(e)...." to talk about what they see, and learn the adjectives "grand(e)" and "petit(e)." They will learn to introduce themselves, greet the group, and say goodbye.
