Class Experience

In this class we will be exploring literary devices through popular examples, and creating our own. I will provide a definition and an example for each one to help get them started. This will be the time for discussion and questions that your student might have about what literary devices are and what they are used for. Students will then create their own example to show case each literary device we go over in class. Once everyone has made their example we will share with the class what we came up with, all examples must be class appropriate. If a student is having a hard time no worries, I will help walk them through it and make sure that every student understands before we move on. After everyone has completed the in class assignment we will play a fun round of Kahoot!
(a free online quiz game) that covers what we went over in class. Students can also post their examples in the class message board after class if they wish to do so.
Here are some possible literary devices we may cover

Allusion
Diction
Allegory
Alliteration
Imagery
Flashback
Tone
etc...

Hi! My name is Miss. Morgan and I teach classes on literature! I just graduated from Texas State University with My BA in English. I've worked in retail and customer service, but my dream is to inspire kids to read. I value hard work and honesty, as long as you try I won't be disappointed. One fun fact about me is that I am a triplet!
