All-Things Youth Photography (Sem 1)
Class experience
Through our semester of All-Things Youth Photography, we'll learn to take amazing photographs as we build from camera basics, respectful peer-to-peer critiquing, advance to the next level, integrate hat tricks and special effects, and conclude with how surfaces "mirror or mutate" the things around them - DSLR, point and shoot - a film camera is not advisable as the photographs would need to be developed and uploaded to the Classroom for feedback. Each week, students will be putting in to...
Having worked for a photographer, I learned many aspects of the art. My passion for photography has inspired the artwork around our home. I have enlarged numerous photographs printed on canvas. I encourage your students to do the same. I am a former 4-H Photography Project Leader. The photographs I use on all my Photography Class listings are my own!
Notes that reiterate/reinforce the material covered will be provided along with photo examples of concepts covered in the class. The class is designed for learners with any digital camera. Students need to have a working knowledge of their own cameras. Memory Cards store student's photographs. Having a blank set of notecards will be useful (but not required) during your student's photography. I will post a supply list in the classroom for our second Special Effects Class prior to Week Eleven.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students need to have a working knowledge of their own cameras (on/off at minimum). If you have the manual for the camera this will be useful. I will encourage your student to submit out-of-Class Assignments directly to me in between class meetings. I provide detailed, careful, encouraging feedback. It is up to you how much time you want your student to spend outside of our live class. To gain the most out of my Classes and allow me, as the teacher, to assist as needed, students being visible, using headphones, and speaking in turn are key components. Taking photographs then submitting out-of-Class Assignments in between classes in order to develop their skills is advantageous. Please, read my amazing Reviews! I've had students (many repeats) and parents who've provided detailed, thorough, thoughtful reviews for other parents considering my Classes.
