Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten
Beginner - Intermediate Level
This is a perfect opportunity for those who would like to assist your child in learning on your own time.
Each pre-recorded lesson will include a power point with name/ handwriting, calendar, phonics, math, and themed unit activities for the Kindergarten level. It is recommended that students know letters/sounds, sight words from the pre-primer and primer Dolch and Fry list, and numbers 1-20 before taking this class. In a live setting, the class normally lasts 45 minutes. In this FLEX setting, videos will not exceed 30 minutes per week. I will post activities for the students to engage in( video challenges, science experiments, creative writing, etc.) and post to the classroom.

-Intro to each lesson/ social skills: Students will learn how to greet others by using eye contact and hand shaking.
-Name/ handwriting activities: Each student will be provided a name template to practice tracing and writing their names independently.
- Calendar: I will present a visual calendar via Starfall.com. Students will learn a song for the months of the year (English and Spanish), days of the week ( English and Spanish), seasons, and weather. We will explore holidays, seasons, and weather patterns as well. I will guide the students through Starfall on the first lesson of each month. After that, I will give the option to do Starfall on their own time.
- Phonics: Students will be reviewing words from the primer Dolch word list on weeks 1-8. We will be practicing fluency of these words each week on weeks 9-16. (words per minute)
- Math: For the summer course, we will be practicing number fluency on 1-100. ( How many numbers per minute)
