Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten
This is a perfect opportunity for those who would like to assist your child in learning on your own time.
If you have thought about homeschooling, but are not sure where to begin this is a great option for you!
This class has been divided into Part 1 and Part 2 to make the upfront fee smaller. If you would rather sign up for the entire semester, All Things Kindergarten Spring FLEX (parts 1&2) is available in my class selection.

Each pre-recorded lesson will include a power point with name/ handwriting, calendar, phonics, math, and themed unit activities for the Kindergarten level. It is recommended that students know letters and sounds and numbers 1-20 before taking this class. In a live setting, the class normally lasts 45 minutes. In this FLEX setting, videos and independent practice may total anywhere from 30-60 minutes each week. I will post 1 pre-recorded video per subject each Monday morning for the students to complete on their own time.
-Intro to each lesson/ social skills: Students will learn how to greet others by using eye contact and hand shaking.
-Name/ handwriting activities: Each student will be provided a name template to practice tracing and writing their names independently.
- Calendar: I will present a visual calendar via Starfall.com. Students will learn a song for the months of the year, days of the week, seasons, and weather. We will explore holidays, seasons, and weather patterns as well. I will guide the students through Starfall on the first lesson. After that, I will give the option to do Starfall on their own time.
- Phonics: Students will begin learning sight words from the primer Dolch word list. Students will learn to say, read, spell, and identify a 2-3 sight words each week.
- Math: Math lessons will differ each week. Please see the semester plans below for detailed lessons.
- Themed Units: This portion will consist of seasonal activities. Students will engage in social studies, science, writing, and art activities.

I built my curriculum from the ground up and would love to continue my passion and skill for the little ones. I had several students reading before Kindergarten and many ELL speaking English at the end of the year. My All Things Kindergarten live class has been successful on Outschool for over 2 years.
