Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, my name is Ms. Tonya. I have loved numbers and enjoyed playing with them my entire life. That passion has lead me to help others learn to enjoy the magic that comes from playing with numbers and computers.
My interest in computers and networking started before the internet. I earned my SC-900 Certification in Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals in 2022. My degree in Networking and Cyber Defense was completed in 2021. I have also earned my Cisco Networking Certificate as well as a North Carolina Criminal Justice Information Security (Level 4) certification.
Cyber security and understanding how the internet works are becoming more important every year and I want to help our students learn to be safe and have fun while being productive. These are essential skills and will become more important as our students grow.
Math has always been my favorite subject. Helping learners grasp concepts of numbers is one of my most gratifying experiences. I enjoy sharing how I use math daily on the farm.
Farm Fun! I also live on a farm and have lots of rabbits, 3 horses, 2 of those are miniature (what fun!), a livestock guardian dog, a farm and house dog, and a garden. Preserving our food and taking care of the animals is hard work and great fun at the same time. I will create a series on these animals soon so keep an eye out for those fun classes.
I am excited to have your learner in my classroom so let's have a great time while we explore numbers, the internet, how it works, and all things data!
