US Grade 3 - 6
Everyone knows cheetahs are the fastest land mammal but why? We’ll review all the adaptations that make cheetahs fast from the use of their tail and to their various facial features. As a former keeper, I’ll review conservation efforts in zoos and why zoos are important for this species to survive. I’ll also review why cheetahs are endangered and explain why cheetahs are often paired with dogs in captivity. Having had the opportunity to hand raise cheetahs and work at a facility that is a leader in conserving species, I can offer a unique and personal learning experience.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a former zookeeper and educator for over 10 years. I have taught all grade levels, scouts, adults, homeschool and other special interest groups. I currently teach mostly bug-based classes as Kim’s Critter Classes for homeschool and scout groups.
My classes are discussion based where the students lead the learning within the topic of the class. I include both biofacts and live animals and insects in my classes and try to incorporate a craft or game with every lesson.
I have hand-raised kangaroos, binturongs, aardvarks and other animals that are in zoos across the country. I have also presented animals on tour with Jack Hanna.
Please message me to schedule a class as I have returned to full time work.
