1 live meeting
30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
During this Live One-Time class, basketball fans will come together and make new friends that share the same passions (NBA basketball)! This will be fun! Come dressed wearing a shirt, jersey, or any type of clothing that represents your favorite NBA player or team (optional). We will talk about our favorite NBA players (past or present) and/or teams, why these are our favorite players/teams, and discuss different players around the league (past and/or present). We will show our respect for the one who is talking by taking turns to speak (so everybody doesn't talk at once). Everyone will respect each other's opinion (even if it is different from our own). I can't wait! I look forward to meeting you! See you in class!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Texas Teaching Certificate in Special Education
About me? Hmm...Let's see. Where should we start? Hmm....I know. Let's take a trip down memory lane to let's say around the last 10-15 years or so. Kapeesh? Kapeesh. Well, for starters I attended and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Kinesiology and a Teacher's Certificate from a PHENOMENAL college that goes by the name of Stephen F. Austin State University (Axe' Em' Jacks)! I started my journey in education as an ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) Therapist for Special Needs children. Little did I know that I would love working with these young talented superstars so much that I wanted to add an additional area in my teacher's certification: Special Ed. Fast forward to a year later, I became a Certified Special Ed Teacher! Woot Woot! Ok ok hold your applause. Hold your applause. It was from that moment on, that my life changed forever. I wanted to take my skills from teaching in a clinical setting to teaching in a public school setting. That's exactly what I did. I taught Elementary Special Ed Reading and Math in public schools for the next few years, but then Covid entered and changed education from the way we knew it. Our school closed in-person learning and went to 100% virtual learning. I was told by parents and staff about strengths that they noticed of me that I didn't know I had. I became a virtual teacher and actually loved it (and still do)! I know I'm long winded, but I'm almost finished typing. I promise! I received numerous compliments from parents about how I always keep the learners engaged during the entire virtual sessions. The region gave me a shout-out for having an engaging and creative online classroom. The principal used my virtual classroom as an example in our staff meetings. The list goes on... When our school opened back up for in-person learning, I decided to take my skills from the public school setting to the online world. Which brings me up to today. I am now a 100% online/virtual teacher! I've never felt like I've made a better decision! My main passion is teaching students how to read! There are so many times that learners advance to the next grade level without truly mastering Phonics (the learning gaps grow wider). This is where I step in! I enjoy working with students who are below grade level in Reading and Math. I primarily teach Phonics, Reading Comprehension, Identifying Numbers 0-100, Skip-Counting, Basic Addition and Subtraction, Identifying Shapes, How To Tell Time, How To Identify and Count Money, and other basic Reading and Math skills to learners who need the extra practice. I make sure every class is engaging and fun while we learn! Come join us! You won't want to miss it! See you all in class! Wait wait wait I almost forgot. Outside of academics, I'm a BIG sneaker and basketball enthusiast (also my passions). I love talking about sneakers and basketball. So, you may also see classes in the future for sneaker and basketball enthusiasts like me. Ok ok I'm really done this time. See you in class!
