Actor is a term that most people are familiar with; but did you know that actors work in many different areas and not just on TV? I guarantee you that there is at least one item in your home that an actor was hired to help produce. That is what we will explore in this class. In this one-time class the students will learn the basics of the following seven different types of acting: film, TV, theater, commercial, voice over, motion capture and background/extras. They will learn how each format is different and be shown examples from each area. This class is an informational and interactive class that will follow a power point presentation with pictures and fun slides, mixed with questions for the students to answer throughout the class, a game at the beginning for the students to test their knowledge, a video clip demonstrating real life examples and an activity at the end if time permits. Also, at the end of the lesson will be a Q and A for the students to ask any remaining burning questions. I try to make learning fun and relatable for students so they will depart with newfound knowledge and have an enjoyable 75 minutes spent interacting with others. No required knowledge is necessary. This class is for students who have a curiosity about acting, love for movies and entertainment, or just want to learn something new. I can't wait to see you in class!
