Class Experience

Classes on the reproductive system will focus on the anatomy (parts) and physiology (function), rather than topics on sexuality, gender issues and sexual health.  All material presented is factual and science-based.
An optional study guide can be downloaded or printed out before class to help the learner follow along in lecture.  Study guides can be completed during class time.
Materials needed for lecture: An optional study guide will be provided at least 24 hours before each class. Study guides can be downloaded or printed for learners to follow along during class. Materials needed for lab: Labeling materials (masking tape or post-its) for week of "Body basics", "Bone up" and "Move It" 4 cups or bowls, labels, blue & red paper for week of "Pump It Up" Balloon or produce bag, ruler for week of "Just Breathe"
A completion grade report can be provided upon request.  Updated reports will be issued upon submission of completed study guides.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
* Some classes may showcase clinical cases and short videos that may depict surgeries, wounds and/or blood that can be graphic in nature.  

* The respiratory lab uses plastic bags to measure lung volumes.  This may pose a choking hazard.

* Classes on the reproductive system include sensitive topics and images that include, but are not limited to, the anatomy of external genitalia, physiology of erections, menstrual cycles and childbirth.
