Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Intermediate Level
1) Students need to be in place at the top of the hour ready for class with music, exercises, instrument lubricated, and lips ready to perform.
2) Students are to remain on camera for the duration of the class session unless requesting an exception via email or chat. The student will still be required to interact with the instructor and class members through spoken voice or chat.
3) Students need to prepare the weekly assignments in order to master that week's content. The course builds on previous knowledge. Students are required to video the assignments and email them to the instructor. They should expect to be called upon during discussions and to perform in class.
4) Students need to communicate with the teacher when they cannot attend. Usual situations include illness, school functions, and holidays. Students will not be refunded for these absences as the class sessions will be available for student review and the weekly practice modules will be posted.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a musician and educator from Lubbock, Texas. I have been teaching school music, private lessons for over three decades. Music has allowed me to travel to 40 states and 3 foreign countries. I have performed in diverse settings, including the YMCA in Tel Aviv, during an earthquake aftershock near San Francisco, the Mesa Amphitheater in Arizona, the Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas, the Long Beach Arena in California, Circus Circus Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and a pre-school in Key West, Florida.

My greatest joy as a teacher is seeing students achieve great things that previously seemed out-of-reach. Those accomplishments are built upon solid fundamentals systematically introduced in classes and one-on-one lessons. To date, all of my private students who have auditioned for Texas All-Region Bands have placed. I invite you to enroll your young musician in one of the small-group classes or private lessons offered through Outschool.com.
