Welcome to "All Earth's Creatures" circle time! In this weekly course early learners will study an animal each week. We will learn about fuzzy animals, flying animals, swimming animals, slimy animals! They will learn about each creature through song, stories and puppetry. This will be a highly interactive class where students are asked to participate using their voices and their bodies. We will use our voices to answer questions, to sing and to share our thoughts on the creatures we are studying. We will use our bodies to move like the animals. We may fly like an owl or hop like a bunny! We may even buzz around as bees and slurp nectar from the flowers around us! This circle time is Waldorf inspired. It will offer a warm and welcoming space for early learners to be together. ⇢ Week of (November 13th): Hoot Hoot! All about owls ⇢ Week of (November 20th): Hop Hop! Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello friends!
My name is Rachel and I am a Waldorf inspired preschool teacher. I own and operate an outdoor forest preschool called secret pasture preschool. We spend our days outside learning, playing, signing, crafting and sharing stories! I have lots of fun trinkets to share like plushy puppets, wooden creatures, felted animals!
I have been working with children for over 10 years in various roles. I have been a childcare provider, a farm to school educator, a preschool teacher and a postpartum doula supporting young babies and families. I enjoy hosting circle times for young learners. I also enjoy leading social groups for older children to talk about nature, bugs, dogs and mindfulness practices. I have a bachelors of science in human services and am a licensed childcare provider. Most recently I have studied Waldorf education and biodynamic farming!
I am an animal lover and have three rescue dogs and a small bunny named Marigold. I have a young son who fills my day with joy and laughter!
