Class Experience

Fluency is the ability to read a text accurately, quickly, and with expression. Reading fluency is important because it provides a bridge between word recognition and comprehension. Fluency is also very important for motivation! I love watching children learn to love reading!
In this tutoring session, I will read a winter fluency passage. Next, we will read the passage together (choral reading). The students will then read the passage out loud to me. Students will read it for 1 minute as I...

Students will grow in their reading fluency by practicing reading and comprehension in a small-group setting.

I am a certified teacher in the state of NC. I have over 13 years of experience and a Master of Education with a Concentration in Reading. I have taught online and in the public and charter school systems.
