Class Experience
In this one time class, the students will listen to a fiction story called A Turkey For Dinner by Eve Bunting/Illustrations by Diane de Groat. The students will make predictions and text to self connections during the reading. The students will listen to the story read with fluency and expression by an experienced teacher. The students will discuss the problem in the story as well as how the story ended and how the problem was solved. The students will then do a step by step drawing of a...
~Students will use listening skills to actively listen to a fiction story read with fluency and expression. ~Students will use comprehension skills to discuss the problem and solution in the story. ~Students will learn to make text to self connections. ~Students will use creative skills to draw a turkey. ~Students will use writing skills to add labels to their non fiction drawing. ~Students will use social skills while interacting with classmates.
