In this class, we will learn all about my favorite instrument, the trombone! We will start by talking about what the trombone is, what it looks like, and how it compares to the other brass instruments. Next, we will explore the trombone's almost 500-year history, learning about how the instrument changed and the kind of music it played at different times through listening examples. After that, we will talk about the basics of trombone technique, explaining and demonstrating how players use both the slide and their lips to produce different notes. I will wrap up by playing some melodies on the trombone to demonstrate the different sounds the instrument can make!
