If you love space and want to learn more about the stars, comets, meteors, and asteroids, this is the class for you! Learners will begin class with a quick ice breaker to help them get to know each other! They can bring a space toy or picture to class so that they can share what they know about space with others. . We will read a book about an asteroid called, "Oh No, Astro" by Matt Roeser. Learners will be encouraged to share their knowledge, ask questions, and make connections about the...
Learners will be able to practice their speaking skills by sharing their knowledge of objects in space. Learners will improve their reading comprehension and vocabulary by listening to an interesting text. Learners will be able to use their creativity and fine motor skills to draw the night sky. Learners will practice their writing skills by writing in complete sentences. Learners will use their imaginations to think of a story about space or their background knowledge to write fun facts about space.
2 files available upon enrollmentLearners will need paper and art supplies, such as pencils, colored pencils, crayons, or markers. Learners may chose to bring a space picture or a space toy to class to share at the beginning. Learners will get some coloring sheets and a graphic organizer that are completely optional.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
