Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 1
Hello and welcome to, "All About the ABCs." In this class, students will be introduced to letters, sounds that letters make, and vocabulary pictures that represent the letter sound. Students will listen practice saying the letters of the alphabet, what sounds they make, learn vocabulary associated with the letter name and sound, and play a game if time allows. Letters are introduced in a carefully sequenced manner and students are encouraged to practice saying the letter names and sounds of the given letter per class. I teach from a Direct Instruction approach. Students are introduced to letters and are encouraged to repeat them until they gain independence. This is an interactive class full of fun, laughter, and movement. It's perfect for beginning learners or ESL students. Students can bring letter tiles or letter flashcards to class to use as a manipulative. This is an ongoing class, so each class is independent of another. Students can jump in and out of class as they wish and not need to get caught up in order to participate. In each class, there will be a different letter/sound discussed.
