Description
Class Experience
Students should practice building with tiles and writing the words they have not mastered yet. Students should review the cards behind each "review" tab.
2 files available upon enrollmentStudents must purchase the All About Spelling Interactive Kit which includes the letter tiles used to build words OR the letter tiles app. https://www.allaboutlearningpress.com/basic-spelling-interactive-kit/ OR https://www.allaboutlearningpress.com/letter-tiles-app/ If you choose to purchase the app, your student must have a second device, such as a tablet, to use the letter tiles app. This ensures that your student can show their work and still see the class. Students will also need the level 1 student packet which includes the sound cards, phonogram cards, key cards, and word cards used for review. https://www.allaboutlearningpress.com/all-about-spelling-level-1-student-packet/ Students will need an index card box to store their review cards. One can be purchased from All About Spelling, but it can also be purchased from anywhere you choose. https://www.allaboutlearningpress.com/spelling-review-box/ A magnetic white board with dry erase marker and a notebook with a pencil are also needed. The magnetic whiteboard is so that students can easily hold up the words they make with tiles for me to see and can write words also. I am not affiliated with these websites.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Phonogram cards, sound cards, key cards, and word cards will be reviewed weekly to determine mastery. Mastery will be evaluated when students write words, phrases, and sentences with the phonograms that have been taught. Students progress will also be assesed during week 6 and the final week of the course.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
