Did you know that service dogs aren't just for those who are blind? Did you know that service dogs don't all wear vests? Did you know that there is a difference between service dogs, therapy dogs, emotional service animals, and companion animals? Do you know what you should and should not do around a service animal? Most people see a cute pupper (dressed up, no less!) and just want to squeal and fluff their fur. We'll learn about why we can't do that and what we can do instead. Service dogs can perform countless tasks for countless disabilities. Everyone needs to know what to do when we encounter one, because knowledge and diversity help the world go round! Meaningful participation is encouraged, though no one will be put on the spot to answer or contribute. Note: Legal issues refer specifically to the U.S. Students outside of the U.S. should check the laws in their country.
