US Grade 3 - 6
In this one time 30-minute course, we will be learning all about the foundations of geology: Rocks! We will be covering the different types of rocks (Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic), how they formed, the rock cycle, and how to identify rocks. Learners will be encouraged to ask questions and discuss amongst themselves about the different types of rocks they have seen. Also, learners should bring at least one rock to the class so that we can all work together to identify it using the information we just learned. This course provides a great background into the world of geology and for my future classes delving deeper into the exciting world of rocks. No prior knowledge is required for this course.
Learning Goals
By the end of this course, students will be able to differentiate between the different rock types and know how they would have formed as well as some minerals that make up the rocks.
