Description

Class Experience

Students will improve their understanding of what classifies a reptile. Once this foundation is laid, we will discuss each reptile group such as crocodilians, squamates (lizards and snakes), and turtles/tortoises. Each group of reptiles has its own adaptations and characteristics that allow them to survive. By using live reptiles we will come to appreciate reptiles and their uniqueness in the animal kingdom.
I am a National Geographic Certified Educator, animal educator, and zookeeper. I have worked with hundreds of reptile species in a professional setting. My career began with a fascination with reptiles at a young age, so I understand the excitement and desire learners have to learn about these fascinating animals.
There is no homework.
Learner progress is assessed by their engagement during the class.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
