Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Beginner Level
In All About Reading, level 1, students are working on basic reading concepts. This is a great review for students struggling with basic reading foundations, or a good way to enrich younger students who are ready for more difficult curriculum. Prerequisites are that the students know their letters and sounds. The class will build each week, and supplemental materials can be supplied upon request. Each class will progress through several teacher taught lessons, using interactive engagement and participation from learners whenever possible. This curriculum covers letter sounds for A-Z, plus consonant teams TH, SH, CH, CK, NG, and NK with dozens of colorful activities and games that reinforce the lessons.

NOTE*** Each session will cover ONE lesson in the book. We will NOT read the books in class, this will be a recommendation for students to do at home and on their own time. It is HIGHLY recommend the student purchases the books for reading on their own, as well as the student learning activity book to use in live classes.

Should you feel fit, your child can begin at any time within the course. If you prefer one-to-one sessions, please reach out for scheduling individual sessions. **Need a different level? Message me and request!

Welcome to my classroom! I am Mrs. Jones and I have a passion for teaching learners how to love learning. The classes I teach are reading, math, and social skills. I individualize each session by using accommodations and modifications as needed for neuro- diverse learning populations, as well as neuro-typical elementary aged students. I have been a Special Education teacher for 7 years and have worked with students with all learning abilities (Specific Learning Disabilities, Other Health Impairments, ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, etc.). I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and masters degree in Exceptional Student Education at the University of Central Florida (GO Knights!). I have Reading and ESOL endorsements, as well as Autism and Guidance Counseling certifications. My passion is to help struggling learners enjoy learning and feel included in all aspects of their education. Fun facts about me are that I love to dance, travel (especially cruising), and watch football! I cannot wait to meet you and learn with you through Outschool (:
