Your student will learn how to code with Python, one of the world's most popular coding languages. This is a highly interactive class with students encouraged to interact with other students and the instructor regularly. Your student will be amazed at what they can do at the end of camp and be excited to continue their coding journey. Some projects we will complete include a pizza shop app and a space catcher game utilizing Pygame. Day 1 Working with Data in Python Review Dictionaries, Tuples, Sets, and Lists What are APIs Day 2 Pep8 Style Guide What are APIs Python API Project - Working with Data from a Real API Coder Skills #2: A Good Coder Is a Good Searcher. Day 3 What are Databases? More at Data in Python Friend Generator Project Coder Skills #3: Life-long learning Day 4 Python Data Types Review Python Binary Search Project Build Fun Games and Projects with Python Over the course students will complete 4 projects with Python. These projects include: Pizza Shop Project Working with Files Project These projects allow students to apply what they have learned with Python while building fun projects! Interactive Groups Every student is strongly encouraged to post questions, sample code, and their projects every step of the way. This gives students the chance to learn from each other and start practicing reading code. The instructor will also be providing feedback and guidance daily throughout the course. The class is a supportive, positive, and fun environment for all students! Technology Requirements Students will use Code with Mu, a free code editor designed specifically for beginners. Code with Mu requires any Windows, Mac, or Linux computer. ***Students will need to be very comfortable typing and know how to copy/paste on their device.********* ********* This is a beginner / intermediate course and students need a good understanding of the foundations. Learning Goals
Students will be introduced to Python and learn about the basic syntax(structure) of the language. The goal of the class is for students to be interested in continuing to learn about Python coding

Students will use Code with Mu, a free code editor designed specifically for beginners. Code with Mu requires any Windows, Apple Mac, or Linux computer. We will also utilize the official Python documentation (instructions) from Python.org as a reference throughout the class.
