In this semester class, students will learn the building blocks of Algebra such as fractions, expressions, equations, and graphing.

US Grade 6 - 9
In this flexible schedule class, students will learn the foundations of algebra. These pre-algebraic concepts are necessary not only for Algebra 1, but for most advanced math courses. This class does not have any live meetings. Please see the live math courses I offer if your student would prefer the synchronous schedule. Although this class does not have live meetings, students will interact with each other and myself. I will post 1-2 instructional videos each week. Homework and practice...
I have taught these concepts in a traditional school setting for many years. Currently, I teach this course in Spanish at my public school! I have tutored the basics of algebra for approximately ten years.
Homework Offered
Students will have math practice problems each week either on a worksheet or the online platform MyOpenMath. This practice is imperative to mastery of the concepts. They must also post questions and respond to their peers. They will also post a video explanation of a practice problem each week.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
There will be short assessments most weeks to review the concepts. There will also be one project in the graphing unit. At the end of the course there will be a final assessment. Per parent request, I can provide grades for the classwork and assessments if needed for a credit.Grades Offered
