Class Experience

Join me in this exciting class about owls. In this class we will learn fun facts about owls. We will learn about their habitat, personality, what they like to eat, and other interesting things about owls. We will also read the award winning story, "Owl Moon" written by Jane Yolen. We will have a group discussion about owls. I will allow each of the children to share their own personal ideas about owls. Finally, we will make an owl drawing. The drawing will be a begginer level drawing of an owl and I will walk the students through how to draw the picture step by step.
This will be a fun and interactive class. I make it a habit to engage my students in each class. I feel they will learn much more by having fun in the class and by having the ability to express themselves and add to the course.
There is no prior knowledge of owls required for this class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I love teaching on Outschool. I offer a variety of classes. I have two book clubs, a cupcake baking class, and several Science classes. I am great with helping struggling readers to build confidence and develop reading skills.
I am a true teacher at heart. One of the things that makes my classes unique is that I love to interact and give kids the opportunity to interact in my classes. There is a mixture of learning and conversation. Each student has the opportunity to communicate their thoughts throughout each of my classes if they would like. I understand that all children learn differently and have unique personalities. It is my top priority to help each child to feel comfortable and confident in each class.
I have been a home-school mom since 2009. I home-school my seventeen year old son, thirteen year old daughter, and ten year old daughter. I am also an online ESL teacher. I am a licensed foster parent in the state of Alabama. I love working with kids that have been trough hard times and helping them to see and achieve their full potential.
Teaching is near and dear to my heart. I decided to home-school my children to give them a more focused education. I feel strongly that education is such a beautiful gift. Children are truly our future and by giving them a great education, we help them to learn that they can accomplish anything they put their minds to. It's an amazing feeling to get to be a small part of that.
I love life and there are so many things I love to do. I love being a home-school mom. I love to skate, sing, hike, read, play video games (especially retro games), and crochet. My husband and I have been married for nineteen years. Our family loves anything Disney! Honestly, I just truly enjoy life in general. I like trying new things. I am always up for an adventure.
If you don't see a class you are interested in, let me know what you are interested in and I will try to put a class together for you. I can't wait to see you in class soon!
