In this one-time class, children will learn all about our Solar System while completing a fun craft. The craft will include coloring, cutting and gluing the eight planets in order. Your child will practice listening skills as I show slides of the planets and discuss simple facts about each one. Your child will learn about the eight planets, the sun and moon. You will need access to a printer to print out the two handouts before class begins. This is a very basic, beginner class to get young students excited about space! I encourage interaction during class, but it is not required. No prior knowledge of space is required. Supplies needed: 2 printed worksheets glue kid-friendly scissors crayons See you soon! The goal of this class is for your child to learn about each of the eight planets, the sun and moon.

Parental Guidance
We will be using scissors during class to cut out the planets for our craft. I would encourage a parent/guardian be present during class to help cut and assemble the project.

Hi! My name is Cristina and I am an Astronomy and Meteorology teacher. I have been an educator for over a decade, having earned a Bachelor's degree in Christian Ministry with a minor in Psychology and Counseling. I am a certified severe storm spotter for both the National Weather Service and the Spotter Network, and am proud to be a NASA Social alumni. Additionally, I serve as a Solar System Ambassador for NASA/JPL, allowing me to share the latest astronomy events with my community.
In my role as a science communicator, I've had the honor of sharing space-related updates for numerous years, affording me the opportunity to distribute information about space across various social media platforms. Additionally, I was selected by Lockheed Martin as a space influencer for the OSIRIS-REx asteroid mission. These experiences have not only enriched my understanding of current space developments but also enabled me to impart this knowledge within my Outschool classes.
Science, particularly Meteorology and Astronomy, have always been a passion of mine and I strive to make learning about it enjoyable for students.
