US Grade 3 - 6
In this one time 30 min class we will be learning all about the rocks that come from other rocks. We will discuss how they form, the different types of metamorphic rocks, where they come from, and why they are important. We will learn how to identify different metamorphic rocks through the types of minerals they are made of, and their patterns. We will also learn about the process of metamorphism, its causes and effects. Learners will be encouraged to ask questions and discuss amongst themselves about the different types of rocks they have seen. No prior knowledge or experience is required for this class, but my All About Rocks class would provide a great background for understanding the exciting world of metamorphic rocks. This class is the last in a series of four standalone classes on the different types of rocks. This series of rock classes can be taken in any order, but this class makes sense as the final class of the four.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about metamorphic rocks, how they form and what makes them special.
