Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will be introduced to JavaScript and learn the foundations of the language. This allows them to confidently move onto more complex code and continue their coding journey. The class is also intended to encourage students to get excited about the possibilities of coding and computer science!
I’ve been a professional developer for nearly a decade. In the past I've worked for Dell, Apple, Best Buy, and the Government of New Zealand. Over the last 4 years, I’ve been teaching and mentoring aspiring junior developers.
There are optional practice challenges and review questions during Week 2, 3, 4 that every student is encouraged to complete. These usually take about 1–2 hours per week.
Students will be provided with an included Coding Rooms account. This is a leading code education tool used by K -12 schools and higher education institutes. ****Students will need to be very comfortable typing and know how to copy/paste on their device.*********
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
