Additionally, a set of journaling pages will be available for students to illustrate and write about their learnings. These pages are optional but aim to enrich the learners' experience.Class Experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Bugs aren't creepy, they're cool! In this five-lesson series, we'll explore the world of insects together from their unique anatomy to their fascinating life cycles and beyond. Each lesson is pre-recorded and packed with fun facts, pictures, and videos to help make learning easy and fun. Plus, I have included homework activities and journaling pages to help learners dive even deeper into the world of bugs. Are you ready to start buzzing with excitement? This class will consist of five short and easy lessons. They are filled with engaging pictures and videos, with the material being taught by me in video format. Each lesson will also conclude with an interactive game. Everything is contained within slide shows in Canva, which students can access with a view-only link. No sign-in or account creation is required and no other websites are needed. Also included in this class are homework suggestions to fully engage and immerse learners. They will receive a PDF download with each lesson that includes a hands-on activity and/or printable. A set of journaling pages about our topic will also be provided. These are meant to aid students in creating their own personalized learning notebook, thereby enriching their understanding of the subject. This unit study is designed to be completed over the course of two weeks, but students will have all the materials available and can move through it at their own pace. I will also be available to answer questions and give guidance as needed.
Learning Goals
In this course we'll dive into the fascinating world of bees and their role in pollination, explore the incredible migration journey of monarch butterflies, and uncover the ingenious ways ants build their colonies. Through hands-on activities and interactive lessons, students will not only gain a deeper understanding of these tiny creatures but also develop a greater appreciation for the vital roles they play in our ecosystem. By the end of this unit, students will be able to identify various insects, understand their contributions to the environment, and maybe even spark a lifelong interest in entomology.
