Class Experience

The class is a tutoring class with a flexible schedule and there will be no live classes. All interaction between learner and teacher will be on the Outschool classroom page. I will create individual lessons catered to each learner. Owning a horse is not needed for the class.

The topics that we will cover will be determined by the learner's needs and what they would like to learn about when it comes to horses.

Some ideas:
Basic - breeds, gaits, basic body parts or points of the horse, colors, etc. and putting the saddle and bridle on and basics of showing and caring for the horses.
Intermediate: more detailed body parts or points of the horse, basic muscles and bones, and more advanced showing techniques and more detailed care of the horses.
Advanced: all of the muscles, bones, body parts or points of the horse, confirmation, conditioning, and training.

*These are just ideas and can be mixed and matched according to the needs of the learner
*I ride western and can help with showing techniques for halter, western riding, reining, barrels, poles, trail classes, etc. I do not know English equitation so once they start riding English I will be of no help. But the learners can still learn the basics of body parts and the beginning stages of training along with other basic horse knowledge.
*The content will be individualized for the learner.

Before the first day please let me know what you would like to learn about involving horses so I can start putting together materials.
All materials will be located in the Outschool classroom. The assignments need to be turned in to the Outschool classroom through videos or scanning/pictures. For the showing and training portion, it would be best if the learners can put together a video of them practicing or at a show so we can go through it together.

I also like to make learning fun by playing games. There is a variety of parts of the horse, muscles, and bone games along with fun judging confirmation games.

Every weekday (Monday-Friday, excluding USA holidays) there will be a teacher post with a video lesson and materials or a game for the learners to do for homework. The learners will need to follow the directions on the homework post and scan the homework back into the Outschool classroom page, create a video or play the game.

This tutoring class will be for 4-week increments. The learners may take as many 4 week classes as needed. If the learner needs to skip a week, please let me know.
