Many kids who are on the autism spectrum or who have special needs often struggle with understanding and identifying emotions. In this weekly, ongoing class meeting, learners will practice and grow their social-emotional skills. Social pictures and practice scenarios will be presented to learners for them to pracitce their ability to identify emotions, infer feelings and express emotions. Students will practice answering the question "how would you feel if ....?" They will also practice using nonverbal and verbal cues to identify the emotions of others. This is a small class size of 4-6 learners. Week of 4/28 Topic: How are they feeling? Week of 5/5 Topic: What's that face? Week of 5/12 Topic: How would you feel if? Week of 5/19 Empathy

Learning Needs
These sessions are designed to support the unique learning needs of students with special needs. All of the teachers have a special education background and will tailer the sessions to the language and social abilities of the students.
