This class will cover the history and present of Elon Musk, with a focus on Tesla, SpaceX, and his ambitions for Mars. The content takes place in kid-friendly chronological order, similar to his biography: 1) Childhood and Education 2) Zip2 and PayPal 3) Tesla 4) SpaceX (history and rockets) and Mars plans 5) Mars-related Projects (The Boring Company and Starlink) This class involves discussion, an image-heavy slideshow, and some short video clips. Students will have many chances to discuss their opinions and what they would do if they were faced with one of Elon's many difficult situations and decisions throughout his life.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how Elon Musk came to found, invest in, own, and/or run multiple billion-dollar companies. They will learn about Elon's revolutionary companies such as SpaceX and Tesla, and they will leave inspired, motivated, and confident that they can change the world as well.
