Do you have a child that loves ducks and may also struggle with fear and anxiety of new experiences. Well, I would love to invite them to my barnyard to meet Uno and Dos, my toddler Pekin Ducks, who were incubated, and hand-raised and live on my farm! They are a little nervous but so excited to meet you! Each day they learn to face their fears as they learn about the world around them! Ducks have got to be the absolute cutest barnyard buddies in all the world and they are so much fun too! I have many years raising Ducks of all breeds and I adore them so much and love sharing this Duck-love with all children! My teaching style is warm and personable and my passion is all about sharing the joy of nature with children and inspiring them to be the best they can be! In this class I will share all about the development, growth, care and keeping of baby ducklings. Your child will get the wonderful opportunity to meet my ducks: too!! These are my Pekin ducks who are growing fast and learning all about the world around them. They have to learn what it means to be brave as they experience new sights, smells and animals around the farm! It is a very big world for a new little duck! Your child will get to learn about and discuss, through storytime and conversations, what it means to be brave and face your fears and try new things. Feel free to download the coloring page to have your child color while I read as an optional activity! Ducklings are fun, messy, sweet and irresistible!! You do NOT want to miss all the cuteness and fun!! My hope is that your child will be duck experts and ready to raise their own ducklings one day and also be more ready to face their own new experiences with super bravery just like Gracie and Boo-Boo and the sweet duckling character from our story! So come on over to the barnyard classroom and meet the babies (But hurry! They grow quickly!)

Hello there! My name is Teacher Johanna! I am so excited to teach your child and witness their joy of learning! I am committed to making sure it is fun, enjoyable and thorough!
I graduated college with Honors status and received a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I have over 20 years experience teaching children in and out of the classroom, with a focus on teaching early childhood, English phonics, reading and literature and nature! I have experience starting and running my own preschool out of my home. Also, I am a certified TESOL and TEFL teacher who has been teaching online ESL (English Speakers of Other Languages) to students ages 4-12, since 2017, where I specialize in teaching phonics and reading classes to young children and older childern.
Furthermore, I am currently and have successfully homeschooled my own 8 children (ages 4-20), including my four adopted children from China! My passions include teaching children of all ages, world travel, reading, spending time with family, photography, writing, nature, gardening, art, and taking care of the many animals on our farm! I believe the world is our classroom and books are our maps! I try to get outside and do most of our learning and reading in nature where there is always a treasure to unearth and new discoveries to be made!
Literature is a huge passion of mine and I love taking students on adventures through the dual gift of "nature" and "literature!" I love to combine stories, nature, and experience into my thematic and engaging classes.
Most of all, nothing gives me greater joy and excitement than helping a child succeed and learn new things in life and watching all the light in their eyes emerge as they learn something fascinating or get lost in the wonder of a story! I will be offering a variety of classes in many subject areas that all have JOY as a common theme! I am so delighted to meet and teach your child and it is a great honor to guide them in new experiences, passions, and interests!
