Class Experience

Calling all chocolate lovers! In this class we will immerse ourselves in everything chocolate. We will learn where chocolate comes from and how it is made. We will discuss chocolate fun facts and students will be encouraged to share their chocolate preferences and engage in class discussions. Learners will collaborate on creating a one-of-a kind written recipe unique to our class. We will also be drawing a chocolate bar.

As the teacher I will be guiding students through interactive slides and encouraging them to think through and weigh in about various questions about chocolate. Our unique class recipe will be created through an ad-lib type format which we will work on as a group. Students will learn fun facts by playing Two Truths and a Lie. I will guide learners to draw a chocolate bar, by breaking it down in easy steps which will be shown and explained.

Materials needed are a piece of paper and a pen/pencil.
*Optional* to bring a favorite chocolate treat to show the class.

Hi I’m Bonnie. It’s nice to meet you and thank you for checking out my profile! You’re probably wondering what you can expect in my class. I believe that there are three key ingredients that makes for successful learning. First, the lesson should be interactive, engaging and entertaining. Being an online teacher for 2.5 years, I have learned the value of keeping kids actively engaged during class. (This is especially important online.) Second is valuing each student for their unique qualities so they feel comfortable in class. Kids should be at ease to speak up or not. There are some children who prefer to listen first before participating. Third, is a high energy class with someone who is excited about their topic. You can expect to see these key things in my classes!

Some facts about me:

*I graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Physical Education.

*I have been a Career Coach and Recruiter for 15 years (Perfect for developing my passion of “People Science” or learning how people effectively interact and communicate with each other through verbal and non-verbal cues.)

*Taught ESL and Science online to kids in China. I have my TESOL certification from International Open Academy.

*Taught a volunteer preschool program as well as an afterschool arts and crafts class.

*I live in New Jersey am married with one child and have a cute little betta fish named Vanilla.

Class topics may include Interview Skills, Body Language and Making Friends. Also, some lighthearted topics such as Chocolate, Ice cream and Betta fish. You can expect the lighter topics to include guided class discussion which will help kids find their voice and gain confidence.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I can’t wait to see you in class!
