All About Birds: Let's Make A Bird Nest
Class experience
Our class will begin with a show and share. Please have little learners bring their favorite toy or stuffed animal. Then we will start with a greeting song and move into discussion about spring and the changes we see around us. Friends will learn about different types of birds by viewing a few pictures of them and learning the names of few common birds we might see. Then we will dive into our craft to make a paper plate bird nest. Friends will also make binoculars by using toilet paper...
Students will improve their discussion skills, fine motor skills, taking turns to talk, listening and being proud of their work and recognizing their own uniqueness and skill set as well as recognize nature around them.
It is spring! It is a wonderful time of the year to teach children how to recognize all of the spring flowers, birds, squirrels, creepy crawly bugs, etc! They get to discover their world around them.
1 paper plate (if possible please have a plate that is white on one side) Scissors (you may have the paper plate cut in half for little learners if they are unable to cut) Crayons Markers 3 Sheets of construction paper or copy paper Construction paper or copy paper (three sheets) Two toilet paper rolls Tape- (pre-cut long pieces to wrap around the toilet paper rolls)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
