Class experience

US Grade 8 - 11
This class is taught in English.
I hold a Master's degree in History, providing a deep and comprehensive understanding of historical events, cultures, and civilizations. This advanced degree has equipped me with a thorough knowledge of the ancient world, including ancient Greece, its history, philosophy, and societal dynamics. Having accumulated two years of teaching experience, I have honed pedagogical skills and developed effective teaching strategies tailored to the needs and learning styles of the age group targeted for this course (12-18 years old). This experience includes a firsthand understanding of how to convey complex historical and philosophical concepts in an engaging and accessible manner.
The course will delve into philosophical concepts explored by ancient Greek philosophers such as Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. These discussions may touch upon abstract ideas related to ethics, politics, and metaphysics, which could be intellectually challenging for some students. Ancient Greece had a rich history that included wars, politics, and societal norms. While we will present historical events in an educational context, some discussions may include mature themes related to warfare, power dynamics, and societal structures. The course will explore the life and conquests of Alexander the Great. While we will focus on his leadership and historical impact, some discussions may touch on battles, strategies, and the broader consequences of his conquests.
The information will be coming from a few different textbooks. One is the West and the World and the other is a McGraw-Hill World History textbook.
