In this fun and interactive class, we will listen to The Polar Express read aloud. Learners are encouraged to wear their favorite pajamas and get cozy while they eat cookies and drink hot cocoa! We will make a train conductor's hat/headband craft. Students are encouraged to share their favorite Christmas item or show off their Christmas pajamas. Class Outline: A. There will be greetings and a virtual polar express ticket collection. B. I will read the story "The Polar Express". C. Students will cut and color their train conductor's hat craft with my guidance. D. Students will be encouraged to participate in a Christmas show and tell where they will show their favorite Christmas item. This can be a Christmas toy, decoration, or even their Christmas pajamas. They should show whatever makes them happy. E. We will wrap up and say our goodbyes until next time. *The class includes a golden polar express ticket printable and a train conductor's hat printable upon enrollment. Parents should have both items printed before class. (There are actually 4 conductor's hats to choose from. You only need to print one). **Note: All aspects of the class are optional, including wearing pajamas, consuming hot cocoa and cookies, etc. Students should participate in whatever way gives them the most joy. ***This class is secular and religion will not be discussed. ****Please let me know if you would like me to schedule this class at another unlisted time. Parental Guidance
Parental Guidance is required for the use of scissors. Please have child safety scissors available for your student. Alternatively, parents can do the cutting before the class.

I love being a teacher! I am patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about making learning fun for every student. All of my classes are inclusive for all children, and are ESL, neurodivergent and autism friendly. I have experience teaching children in all of these groups and of varying ages, learning styles, academic abilities, and English proficiency levels. I look forward to meeting your child in the classroom for an exciting learning adventure!
I have an M.S. in Psychiatric Rehabilitation from the University of Medicine and Dentistry, NJ. I also hold a B.A. in both Psychology and Sociology, with a Criminology Certificate, all from Rutgers University. In addition, I earned a TESOL Certificate.
My teaching specialties include preschool skills, elementary education, ESL- English as a Second Language, life skills, and coping skills. Some of my other interests are video games, board games, travel, Disney, crafts, cooking, and baking.
My employment has always included teaching or counseling. I have taught in a daycare center, a children's developmental center, schools, and a psychiatric day program. I also have 5 years of experience teaching children English online. Educating all of these students has been very rewarding, and I am thrilled to be offering classes on Outschool.
**** To ensure learner privacy, safety, and comfort, which are of the utmost importance, class recordings of social clubs/classes will not be shared.
****TRANSFER POLICY: I am flexible regarding transfers to another section of the same class (if available), but all transfers must be requested at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled class in order to allow another student the opportunity to enroll in your child's spot. Transfers cannot be granted for missed classes, or for requests made within 24 hours of the scheduled class. Transfers are only available for the same exact class, within the same Outschool week, which ends on Sunday.
