In this one-time class, students will have fun learning about the different planets and decide which one is best for their alien creation. They will draw and name their alien, describe its personality, likes and dislikes and appearance.

Description

Class Experience

Space is one of my favourite topics! I always wonder what other life is out there... Join me in wondering in this exciting class, where we will learn facts about all the planets in our solar system, before creating our own alien. Students will decide which planet is best-suited to their alien and give it a name. Students will then have a go at writing a description of their alien, using word lists to help. What do they look like? What do they like to eat? What hobbies do they have?

This is very much a cross-curricular lesson, where students will cover art, science, literacy and geography.

Students will gain an understanding of basic facts about the planets in our solar system.
Students will learn how environments can affect life.
Students will develop their art skills.
Students will expand their descriptive vocabulary.
