This Summer Camp is created to prepare students for Pre-Algebra & Algebra 1 this fall! We will be looking at the four most fundamental concepts necessary to be successful in Algebra. Whether your student is preparing to take Pre-Algebra or jump into Algebra 1, this class will be sure to help them get through some of the more difficult standards with ease. As I have taught for the last 10 years, I have identified these skills to be the most hindering concepts in Algebra that keep students bogged down and not able to succeed to the level of their full potential. Students will receive guided notes and worksheets in the classroom every Monday that correspond to each weeks lesson. Class Structure: 5 mins- Review 15 mins- Instruction 15 mins- Practice (Opportunity for break-out groups and/or 1-on-1 assistance) Schedule: July 7, 8, 9- Adding & Subtracting Integers (Positive & Negative Numbers) July 14, 15, 16- Multiplying & Dividing Integers (Positive & Negative Numbers) July 21, 22, 23- Simplifying Fractions July 28, 29, 30- Ordered Pairs These four concepts are integrated into almost every single Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 standard to some degree. The more familiar your student is with these four concepts, the smoother their experience will be with Algebra!
