In this 1:1 class, students receive individualized help on this specific Algebra topic: Combining integers (positive and negative numbers). This includes the following: ◼ adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers; examples include -3 + 8, 2 - 7, -4 - 11 ◼ multiplying and dividing positive and negative numbers; examples include 8 · -7, -4 · 5, -1 · -6, -36 ÷ 6, 28 ÷ -7, -14 ÷ -2 Learners in Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 use these types of problems extensively. Learners should have paper and pencil and be able to annotate on the screen during class (no special supply needed--students will just be drawing lines).
A 5 question assessment is available upon request. Students may complete the short assessment provided to the student (with answer key) after class if parents wish to use it as an informal assessment.
20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
