Description

Class Experience

Students will show mastery of the skills listed in the Class Experience section.
Two weekly homework assignments and one project per unit
Homework and the project are optional but strongly encouraged. I will provide thorough feedback for all assignments turned it to me. Grades will be provided upon request.

Students should expect to spend 1 - 2 hours outside of class time on homework and the project.
Students will be provided with notes for each week. Please have the note pages printed and ready before class begins. Homework assignments will be posted after each class session. Students will need: ◾ Pencils and the print out of the notes (or a notebook) to take notes and work out problems given in class ◾ A scientific calculator; I prefer that students have a hand held calculator rather than using the one on their devices. There is no need to purchase an expensive graphing calculator. We will use the graphing calculator found at https://www.desmos.com/calculator in class. ◾ A second device, such as smart phone or tablet, would be helpful but is not required. It may be easier to use this second device for the review games that we may play such as Kahoot.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Throughout each class, I will informally assess students' knowledge of the covered topics and adjust instruction to meet their needs.

Feedback will be provided for all homework assignments and the project. Grades will be provided upon request.
2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
The following game sites may be used in order to provide extra practice with skills learned in class:
• Kahoot
• Quizlet
• Blooket
• Gimkit
None of these sites require students to create an account. Students will only need to access them to play a game during class.

We will use a graphing calculator found at https://www.desmos.com/calculator. Students will not need to create an account.

This class also uses Pear Deck, an interactive presentation tool. Students will not need to create an account.
